Submission Guidelines
Audi Locus: A Journal of Poetry welcomes submissions of poetry, visual art, and photography from writers and artists worldwide. We publish two online issues per year, one in January and one in July. We are thrilled to consider your work for our upcoming issues. Please carefully read the submission guidelines below.
Submission Periods:
Poetry
January Issue: Submissions open from October 1 to November 30. This issue has no theme.
July Issue: Submissions open from April 1 to May 31. This issue will have a specific theme announced on our website and social media platforms.
Visual Art
We accept submissions of visual art in both traditional and digital media, as well as photography. Submissions will be accepted during our poetry reading periods (Oct 1 - Nov 30 for the January issue and Apr 1 - May 31 for the July issue). Please email your submissions to audilocusblog@gmail.com. Begin your subject line with "ART SUBMISSION".
Music/Etc.
Audi Locus Blog (Reviews/Interviews/Other): Rolling submissions. This is where to send your music releases, interview requests, or anything that doesn’t fit the prior categories but you think we’ll vibe with. Please email your music/etc submissions to audilocusblog@gmail.com or click here!
Submission Format:
All submissions should be primarily in English, but the inclusion of some foreign language within your composition is welcome.
Each poetry submission can include 1-3 poems.
Poems should be formatted in a readable font (e.g., Times New Roman or Garamond, 12 pt).
Save and upload your poems in a single document (.doc/.docx).
The document should include no identifying information in the file name or body of work — this allows us to read blind!
We prefer visual work to be submitted in .PNG format at a resolution of 150 DPI. If your work is accepted, we may request a higher resolution for publication.
Music submissions should be already released and should include links to embeddable songs.
Content and Theme:
For the January issue, we accept poems on any topic or theme. Surprise us!
For the July issue, please ensure your submissions align with the announced theme. The theme will be available on our website and social media by March 15.
If you enjoy poetry that evokes strong feelings and explores themes of liminality, existentialism, or surrealism, we'd love to read your work. Think alt-pop, trip-hop, and folk music. But we’re open to art and are excited to read what you want to share.
Our focus is on highlighting the diversity and originality of human creativity. Please do not submit work that is entirely AI-generated.
Submission Process:
Submit your poems via the Google Forms link provided on this page (poetry submissions received via email will not be accepted).
Music and art submissions should be sent via email (audilocusblog@gmail.com).
You will also be asked to include a short bio with any previous publication credits and your social media handles.
If you write a cover letter, your editors are Maudie and Brandon. However, we won’t read the cover letters for poetry until after we’ve read and decided on the works!
Simultaneous Submissions:
We accept simultaneous submissions, but please notify us if your work is accepted elsewhere.
Response Time:
We aim to respond to all submissions within 4 weeks of the submission deadline. If you do not hear from us within this time frame, feel free to follow up.
Publication Rights:
By submitting to Audi Locus, you confirm that the work is your own and previously unpublished.
By submitting your work, you grant Audi Locus first electronic rights and non-exclusive archival rights for all published works. Rights revert to the author upon publication. Please credit Audi Locus as the original publisher for any future republications.
Payment:
At this time, we are non-paying market. However, authors will receive a .PDF copy of the issue featuring their work.
We look forward to reading your submissions and sharing your voice. Thank you for considering Audi Locus for your poetry.
For any questions, please contact us at audilocusblog@gmail.com.
Happy writing!
